The Região de Turismo do Algarve (Algarve Tourism Board) acknowledges the importance of protecting the personal data of all those with whom it comes into contact, and complies with all of the requirements set out in Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 – General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The privacy policy set out below ensures compliance with all of the rules and principles regarding the protection and processing of personal data and their security in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable legislation governing privacy and data protection.

2. Personal Data
"means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person ("data subject"); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person;"

3. Data subjects
The Partner, Supplier, Collaborator, or natural person to whom the data relates and who seeks information from or submits requests to the Região do Turismo do Algarve.

4. Data processing and sources
"'Processing' means any operation or set of operations which is performed on personal data or on sets of personal data, whether or not by automated means, such as collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction;"
The Região de Turismo do Algarve processes the personal data it receives within the scope of the mission and responsibilities inherent to the institution's activity, the commercial relationship with suppliers and in the scope of compliance with applicable legal, regulatory and management obligations. Personal data may be collected through direct contact with the institution by means of correspondence, through the promotional/institutional websites, the WiFi network and by express consent in response to contacts made by the institution.
Users do not need to provide their personal data in order to access the information on the websites.
However, for the provision of certain services and/or information, it will be necessary to provide some personal data, and the Região de Turismo do Algarve will draw your attention to this fact wherever appropriate.
If the information required is missing or inaccurate, the Região de Turismo do Algarve may not be able to provide the service and/or information requested. Responsibility lies with you in the event that the information you provide is inaccurate or imprecise.

5. Purpose of the processing
Your personal data will be processed with your explicit consent and for the explicit purpose for which you gave that consent, i.e. to divulge the institution's activities, to maintain the relationship with private suppliers, to execute and handle requests and to respond to questions, suggestions or complaints.

6. Creation of profiles
The Região de Turismo do Algarve does not create profiles when processing personal data.

7. Access to data
Access to the personal data provided by the data subject is internal and restricted to services that perform activities involving the use/consultation of databases.
Access is also given to subcontractors who provide maintenance, hosting and management of the computer systems and equipment, pursuant to the legislation which regulates the processing of personal data. These entities are required to maintain confidentiality and ensure the security of the personal data to which they have access; they may not use said personal data for other purposes.
In the case of information requests or complaints, the data may be forwarded to other entities better qualified to answer the query or provide the requested service. In such cases, the data are sent individually and with the data subject's knowledge.

8. Data storage
The Região de Turismo do Algarve will store your data for the length of time necessary to pursue the purposes for which they were collected, in accordance with legal stipulations or in the public interest as specified in Article 6, paragraph 1, subparagraph e) of the GDPR.

9. Communication and transfer of data
The data collected will not be passed on to other countries or to international organisations.

10. Data subjects' rights
The Região de Turismo do Algarve guarantees all of your rights, as the data subject, insofar as the processing of same is concerned, pursuant to the GDPR, i.e. access to and rectification or erasure of personal data or restriction of processing concerning the data subject and to object to processing as well as the right to data portability.
You may also request a copy of the consent granted at any time.

11. Personal data protection
The Região de Turismo do Algarve fully respects data subjects' right to privacy. To this end, it employs security systems, rules and other procedures to ensure that your personal data are protected and to prevent unauthorised access to, and improper use, disclosure, loss or destruction of, said personal data.

The websites may not be used for illegal purposes or for purposes that may be considered unworthy of the image of the Região de Turismo do Algarve.
